  • Change in CAP's scope: Effective October 1, 2020, CAP is a procurement resource funded only to provide assistive technology to Department of Defense employees, and active duty Service members.
  • Provision Clarification: Sit-to-Stand workstations to Service members: On October 1, 2018, the Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP) announced that it would stop providing sit-to-stand accommodations to all of its Service members, Department of Defense, and Federal employee populations because of budgetary constraints. To clarify, CAP will review and consider requests for sit-to-stand accommodations for active duty Service members when certain severely limiting medical conditions are present.
  • COVID-19 and Telework Accommodations: Due to COVID-19, CAP can now ship accommodations to alternative addresses and provide duplicate accommodations for the telework space on a case-by-case basis.
  • COVID-19 and potential delivery disruptions: Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, accommodation delivery may be delayed.
  • Alert Notification!: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak CAP will no longer provide physical, in person needs assessments, including those at CAPTEC in the Pentagon until further notice.
  • EEOC and OPM Announce Resources for Disability Self-Identification Efforts: The EEOC and OPM have released a joint memorandum highlighting important revisions to the SF-256.
  • Important Notice: All reasonable accommodation requests submitted to CAP will require an approval e-mail from an approving official or agency personnel that are authorized to approve reasonable accommodations on behalf of employees at your agency or component.
